2023 Summer School - Gifted Program
Students will explore topics related to astronomy and space travel including: designing a space suit, building a rocket, studying "earth-like planets," researching black holes and the unknown and designing their own Mars Colony.
There will be three age-based groups at 3 schools. Incoming 1st-3rd grade, incoming 4th-6th grade, and incoming 7th and 8th grade. Each group will explore topics appropriate to their grade levels and abilities.
The junior high group will include a math jumpstart skills for junior high, a space/science focus, virtual reality, and Lego robotics!
Eligibility:
1) Any WESD student identified as gifted in one or more areas.
2) Temporary Placement/ Guest students participating in gifted services.
3) Any student outside the district with evidence of gifted test score (95th percentile or above).
When: May 30, 2023-June 22, 2023 (Monday-Thursday for 15 days)

***PLEASE NOTE: Lookout Mountain Program is FULL and no longer accepting additional participants*** ***Lookout Mountain offers a separate STEAM camp in the afternoon from 1:00PM-3:00PM. This requires a separate registration through the school, however, if you would like your child to stay at Lookout Mountain for game time with a gifted teacher between the gifted camp and STEAM camp(11:30AM-1:00PM) please select the "Lookout Mountain PLUS CARE Between Programs). All other Lookout Mountain gifted campers must be picked up at 11:30AM.***
